Who We Are

Founded in 1936, The Mennonite Theological College of East Africa (MTCEA) in Musoma stands as a beacon of theological education in the region. For over 85 years, we have been nurturing spiritual leaders, equipping them with deep biblical knowledge, practical ministry skills, and a heart for service rooted in Anabaptist-Mennonite traditions.

What We Do

MTCEA offers comprehensive theology programs designed to prepare students for effective Christian ministry. Our curriculum combines rigorous academic study with hands-on field experience, fostering spiritual growth, critical thinking, and community engagement.

We cultivate a vibrant learning community where students from diverse backgrounds come together to study Scripture, engage in worship, and develop practical skills for church leadership, pastoral care, and missional work in contemporary African contexts.

Our Rich History

Since our founding in 1936, MTCEA has grown from a small Bible school to a respected theological institution serving East Africa. Our graduates have gone on to serve as pastors, educators, missionaries, and community leaders across the continent, carrying forward our legacy of faithful biblical scholarship and practical ministry.

Dedicated Faculty

Our faculty members are experienced theologians and practitioners who combine academic excellence with deep ministry experience. They mentor students personally, modeling integrative approaches to theology that connect biblical truth with African realities. Many are published scholars actively contributing to theological discourse in East Africa.

Vibrant Community

MTCEA brings together students from various denominations and countries across East Africa, creating a rich learning environment. Our campus life includes daily chapel, small group discipleship, and community service opportunities. Students form lifelong friendships and ministry networks that extend far beyond their time at the college.
